Update: the LA Fires AND Ways to Take Care of yourself

TRIGGER WARNING: This story mentions difficult and potentially triggering content such as wide-spread wildfires. If this will trigger or harm you in any way, please do not read.  Hello, everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. As some of you may know, wildfires are raging like beasts across California, which is my home. And between evacuation orders and anxiety for the towns and people I’ve known my whole life, it’s been hard to find space just to write, to just write something that feels good. And so, while red flames lick the air and toxic smoke unfurls across the gray sky, I will try. I evacuated to Santa Barbara where the sky is calm and the ocean rushes in a sea of white to the shore. It’s beautiful here, the absolute small seaside town escape. And it feels wrong, in a way, to be so far away, to be so safe and distanced while people I care about are losing houses and possessions every day. And if some of you are in similar positions or know people who are, know that my who...

4 Date Recommendations You Will Not Want to Miss

Image
It’s the holidays - which means spending time with your  loved ones for some and spending time alone for others. However, if you are spending time with someone special, then perhaps consider going on a date! Dates are one of my partner Coffee and I’s favorite ways to relax and have a good time together - and here are 4 of our favorites that you might consider going on with your significant other. 1/ the Beach / the Santa Monica Pier Photo booths, rides, games, sweet treats and the idyllic  scenery of the waves rushing to the crushed blond  shore? The Pier has got it all and is the  perfect place  to go with your partner, especially if you have some  money to spend. Coffee and I loved every second of  our time there, surrounded by the ringing bells of  games being won, the rush of the ocean below us,  and the excited chatter of ride-goers surrounding us.  I won every game, we went to a café, had ice cream by the water, and went on all the...

It’s a Love Story

First things first, I have to tell you about The Most Important Person In My Life. We’ll call them Coffee. They are my partner, my best friend, and the love of my life. Let me tell you a little bit about them. First: description. My Coffee has brown curls that trail down their back, which they like to keep in a bun (mostly after showers) or a high ponytail (which I love) and sometimes in braids (also adorable). They have the sweetest smile I have ever seen, which has the ability to light up the world, and brown eyes that I get lost in. They’re a little bit on the shorter side of 5'1 and every moment with them feels like magic. They are a comedic genius, the kindest soul I have ever met, and somehow book-smart and insanely emotionally intelligent all at once! They love coffee flavored ice cream (hence the name), egg-shell white carnations, and The Hunger Games . Oh, and they also love me! We’ve been together for almost a year now, and I love them more every day. I don’t know how it’...

My first hello

This is the date! December 5, 2024 You may not know this, (actually, you have no way of knowing this since you are anonymous readers) but I have an unlucky thing about the number five. It has always haunted me. You could say that it’s my thirteen, my umbrella-open-inside, my socks-with-sandals. The number five is the day where my life flipped upside down — but it’s also the day I started healing. Hello. Welcome, and bienvenue. I will not share my real name, so I’ll go by Luna for this blog. Some things to know: this will be a personal blog, for anyone reading it. This blog will cover aspects of my life including stories (both real and fictional), healing from an ED, love, mental health, holidays, you name it! But most importantly, I'm writing this blog for you and for the storytelling. You see, I have always enjoyed it. I began the craft at a young age, spinning tales like gold for my younger sister, who we’ll call Hannah. Every night in our shared bedroom, tucked into our twin bed...
